Periodontal Treatment Needs of Patients with Chronic Kindey Disease

Objective: To assess the periodontal treatment needs of patients in different stages chronic kidney disease Methodology: A Cross sectional comparative study was conducted department Nephrology and Urology, Sharif Medical Dental College, Lahore on 32 with time duration one year. Data collected after taking an informed consent from patients. The demographic data along a list variables associated recorded using structured questionnaire. collection based following parameters: Community Periodontal Index Treatment Needs (CPITN). Results: highest percentage (10%) who required no (TN0) were stage 3 Majority 5 (93.1%) scaling, prophylaxis oral hygiene instruction (TN2) followed by 4 (90.9%) (40%) respectively. None complex treatment, instructions (TN3) Conclusion: healthy periodontium pocket depths 4-5 mm found to be most then 3. had 6mm or more. (TN3).
